I hope you’re having an amazing day. I’m getting into the groove of sending these weekly love notes — and this week’s story is a simple one about perception, patience, and joy in unexpected places.
Last weekend, I went to get blood work done as part of my Rock Your Goddess Life journey. I wanted a clean baseline as I rock the next 12 weeks — I’ll share more soon.
My appointment was at 9:00 AM, but my daughter and I arrived at 7:45 AM, assuming they’d just get us in. They did not. 😂
One person after another was called ahead of us.
I turned to the woman sitting next to us — who had been there since we arrived — and quietly asked, “Were you also assuming they’d take you early if you showed up ahead of time?”
She said yes. I said, “Okay, I’ll ask.”
She smiled with relief and said, “Oh, that would be great — I have social anxiety and I would never do that.”
I smiled back — “I’ve got it.”
So I kindly asked the front desk — twice — and both times got a firm “Nope.”
For a few minutes, I felt that flash of irritation — and, honestly, a hint of entitlement.
But then — I shifted.
